Updated 11/8/21: Turkey Reservations are Officially Closed!
That's all she wrote, folks! If you'd like to put your name on the wait list, we'll reach out to waitlisted folks after we process turkeys the week before the holiday. To do so, send an email with the subject line of "waitlist 2021" to Shirefolkfarm@gmail.com. We'll send out an inventory of sizes available once we know what the overage looks like, and they'll be available on a first-come first-served basis.
11/4/21:
Yes, we still have turkeys left! They're going fast now, so get your reservation in ASAP!
9/7/21:
Reservations are now open!! A few changes from last year - we've narrowed the sizing options, but you can still request XS and XL in the box on your reservation. Price has gone up to $6/lb this year. Our feed prices were raised twice(!!!) this season and unfortunately we've just got to charge more to be able to keep producing the delectable turkeys you all know and love. Thanks for your understanding!
Pickup Information, Locations and Times:
All reservations have a specific, scheduled pickup location and window (see below). If you're not able to make that time, please get in touch with us ASAP to schedule something else. We will send out reminder emails to all reservations about a week beforehand, so please make sure that shirefolkfarm@gmail.com is added to your address book.
Please bring a strong, reuseable bag! We have plastic grocery sacks that we can double up, but a reusable bag is a much better option for a heavy turkey.

2021 Turkey Info
ShireFolk Farm Thanksgiving Turkeys are back! We are now taking deposits for your very own pasture-raised, non-GMO, fresh never frozen, delicious Thanksgiving centerpiece.
Here's how they're raised:
We get our birds as day-old "poults" and keep them safe and comfortable in a heated brooder (we converted a shipping container for just this purpose) until they are fully-feathered and ready to go out into the elements. They are fed a non-GMO feed that is milled locally at Sunrise Farms in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. Once they are ready to go out onto pasture, they are able to roam freely in our pastures, kept safe in electrified fencing that is rotated frequently (weekly at first, and more frequently as they grow larger).
We buy broad-breasted white turkeys from a regional hatchery. This breed is the commercial standard, and so our end product will look and taste familiar to you. If you are familiar with commercial poultry production, you may wonder if they are similar to the Cornish Cross meat bird that is the commercial standard for chicken. We have found them to be much smarter, healthier, and more independent than the Cornish Cross (which we do not raise for ethical and environmental reasons), and in our systems they've been hearty and resilient, excellent at foraging on our pastures. Our birds will have more muscle tone than a commercial turkey for sure, and will be more flavorful and nutritious. You can buy them with confidence that they've lived a happy, healthy life in the grass and sunshine, doing all the things that turkeys love to do.
Curious to see our turkeys grow? Follow us on Instagram to see how the turkeys look. You can also visit us at one of our markets to talk more about these special birds.
